Invisalign Lake County
“The entire team is incredibly friendly. The office atmosphere is welcoming, the facility always looks “neat as a pin”. They take great care with each one of their patients.”
Invisalign has several benefits over traditional braces for Lake County patients (and people all over!):
- Less obtrusive
- Faster treatment duration
- No food restrictions
- Regular brushing and flossing
- Removable
- No uncomfortable brackets and wires
- Less dental visits
Invisalign vs. Metal Braces
First, the most obvious advantage is one you can barely see – Invisalign are discreet and hardly noticeable! This makes them ideal for working professionals and other individuals who do not want to wear clunky metal braces. The aligners are removed when eating or drinking (except for water) and can be removed for special occasions like a wedding or pictures.
With Invisalign there are no restrictions on what you eat; with braces you must avoid foods that can get stuck in the wires like taffy, popcorn, and gummies. When braces are removed, there can be unsightly stains under the metal brackets, but because Invisalign are removed for regular brushing and flossing that isn’t a concern.
The Invisalign treatment is faster than traditional braces, generally taking between six months to two years to complete, depending on your teeth. New aligner trays are mailed to you every two weeks to guide your teeth into the desired position. While you have to go into the dentist office every month with metal braces to be tightened, Invisalign requires less frequent office visits. Those tightening visits can be extremely uncomfortable, but fortunately Invisalign doesn’t have any wires or brackets – they are braces but better.
